Mike Gratton Coaching is a response to a growing demand for expert coaching in a World of increasing interest in social running. Events like the Boston and London Marathons have stiffened the good for age qualifying times since the numbers reaching them is increasing. This is a good indication that runners are looking to be as good as they can be.

There are a lot of static training plans available – we have ours published on the 2:09 Events website and many club and charity sites - any runner who moves to a consistent and progressive plan will make improvement.

Training, though, is dynamic, everyone adapts at different rates - colds, niggles, and life sometimes get in the way and the plan has to adapt. This is were coaching comes in, we aim to supply a training plan based on information you give us, this is then dynamically worked to adjust for the realities of real life with regular contact time.

BESPOKE TRAINING

How you adapt and absorb a training load is personal to you. With discussion, objectives can be set then managed dynamically, with changes made as you progress to take account of life circumstances, races entered, and your response to the training.  Contact time is not limited and is easiest done via email or Messenger so that we can look at the plan and respond quickly.

 The Training Plans:

If you choose to keep going on an ongoing basis we will respond to your running year; your main target races, maybe a cross country or track season. You tell us what you want to achieve in your running year and we will look to work with you to make that happen. Payment is by monthly direct debit with a minimum duration of 4 months, which works well if the plan is up to a specific target, such as a key marathon.

 The Fees:

The ongoing programme: £60 per month for a minimum of 4 months paid monthly by standing order.

 A broad plan is agreed initially based on athlete feedback, i.e. recent training, current PB’s, targets, time available, etc, then the specific training is sent in a programme on a monthly basis. The monthly plan can then be adapted on a daily basis as, and if, necessary - juggled to take in any unforeseen work commitments and the like, that life throws at all of us.
